Plan the tables before polishing the sign
Enter venue-agreed tables and capacities. Match the chart’s labels to the physical tables. The drawing is schematic; confirm real clearances and access separately.
Worked capacity calculation: 46 guests, six tables
In this worked calculation, six tables of eight provide 48 places. Seating 46 guests leaves two spare places, shown here at Table 1. These figures are separate from your editable plan.
| Table | Assigned guests | Empty seats |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 6 | 2 |
| 2–6, each | 8 | 0 |
| Total | 46 | 2 |
Use one Party value per household, then choose Seat remaining guests. Unassigned party members stay together where they fit; existing seats are preserved. A group that cannot fit stays unassigned.
Review the arrangements the tool cannot infer
The planner does not infer relationships or event seating conflicts. Review these yourself. Notes stay off printed charts but remain in exported CSV and JSON.
Choose a table seating chart or an alphabetical list
Print full names grouped by table, an alphabetical list, or table cards. The compact layout abbreviates names. Check spelling and unassigned guests, then keep JSON. See templates and the revision guide.
